Password Dragon – A No-Install Multi-Platform Password Manager

Password Dragon is a free, multi-platform, no-install Java application. This portable password manager requires Java Runtime Environment – JRE 1.5 + for its full-functioning and uses Bruce Schneier’s Blowfish algorithm for cryptography.

Ubuntu: Being a no-install, unpack the zipped package, and run with
$ java -jar passworddragon.jar
 

Your first step in creating a safe password begins here Record -> Add to open the Add Record window.
Its rather difficult to create a 100% strong password, better try the password generator by clicking on Generate Password button besclasses the password field. That takes you to this window.

Finally I got a 100% strong password with the password generator.

The next step is to store your created passwords in a highly encrypted .pwm file, and lock-it with a master password File -> Save File As

The Password Dragon toolbar has amongst other buttons the ;
User Id – – to copy User ID to the clipboard
Password – – to copy Password to the clipboard
Browser – – to launch URL
Option button – – where you can configure your manager;
-> On the General tab you can set an inactivity timeout in minutes — it locks the application if inactive in given time.
-> On the Browser tab – choose your default browser. That automatically activates the launch URL button.
-> On the Backup tab create your backup directory and if Password Dragon has to backup each time a file is saved.
-> On the Clipboard tab, choose to copy either the User Id or Password to clipboard on URL launch.

Password Dragon also includes support for categories (Tools -> Category), which let you group your accounts. You can use categories when searching through your accounts. You can create categories like Email, Finance and social networking, Website.
Categories cannot be nested insclasse one and another, and each account can be associated with only a single category.
