Upgrade your Firefox ‘Lorentz’ to Firefox 3.6.4

If you couldn’t resist testing the first ever Firefox (Firefox 3.6.3 ‘Lorentz’ ) that runs plug-ins in separate processes, then its time for you to upgrade to Firefox 3.6.4 beta that like Firefox 3.6.3 provides “uninterrupted browsing for Windows and Linux users when there is a crash in the Adobe Flash, Apple Quicktime or Microsoft Silverlight plug-ins”. Firefox 3.6.4 also fixes several security and stability issues found in FF 3.6.3. Altogether 167 bugs were fixed, 15 were marked as critical – 1 of the critical bugs particularly affected Ubuntu Lucid Lynx users.

Lightweight Themes a.k.a Personas coming to Thunderbird 3.1

There is every reason to believe that upcoming desktop email client Thunderbird 3.1 will support Personas lightweight theme. Thunderbird 3.1 final is scheduled for June 1, 2010, but we may not have to wait so long, it is probable that Personas will be pushed into Thunderbird 3.1 beta 2 scheduled for delivery on Tuesday 4th May for testing. Ubuntu 10.04 ‘Lucid Lynx’ Wallpapers has new wallpapers of its own, taken from the community contest. The default wallpapers now are available via the Update Manager together with the new Ambiance and Radiance community themes. Ubuntu 10.04 LTS beta 2, packed with Gnome 2.30 was released a week ago, the first release candidate will be out in a weeks time, April 22nd.
