Firefox fixes vulnerabilities with the Latest Release Firefox 2.0.0.9
The Mozilla Foundation takes a break to repair the several vulnerabilities the 2.0.0.8. version had. So the latest release Firefox 2.0.0.9. corrects the several problems that were found in the previous release.
But the Linux Magazine says that; the vulnerabilities that version 2.0.0.8 failed to fix still seem to exist in 2.0.0.9. As previously, it is possible to hide part of the source code, preventing users from viewing the code in “View Page Source”. This means that attackers still have the ability to hide malicious code in their websites.
It is strongly recommend to upgrade to this latest release. If you are using Firefox 2.x, then you will receive an automated update notification within 24 to 48 hours. This update can also be applied manually by selecting “Check for Updates” from the “Help” menu.
Netscape Navigator 9 for Linux takes a step ahead of Firefox
Navigator 9 for Linux came out with some very interesting features that gives it a new shine. To start, there is no need for a formal installation, it can be executed from a terminal just like the ioswiftfox browser.
Navigator 9 URL correction attempts to automatically correct incorrect entries, like changing kabatologycom to kabatology.com or cmo into com.
Navigator 9 introduces a side bar feature called Link Pad, it is an alternative to bookmarks and it serves to save links you’ll immediately want to revisit. Links can be saved with a simple drag and drop.
Another major feature is the Mini Browser that is integrated in the sidebar and displays a second website simultaneously with the display in the main window. Its like browsing through two websites simultaneously with a scalable frame that permits you to increase/reduce the size of the mini browser.
Navigator extends Firefox’s Tab browsing feature and makes the tab inherits the history of the window pointing to the tab thus opening a link in a new tab will give the new tab the same history as the source tab for a more seamless tabbed browsing experience.

Netscape 9 for Linux is based on Mozilla technologies, this makes it compatible with most of the Mozilla add-ons. Themes or extensions that work with Firefox 2 also go with Netscape 9 for Linux.
You can beautify your Netscape browser with the beautiful themes that go with Firefox 2, even though some Netscape features like the mini-browser or Link Pad would not show-up (no icons). So customize your theme to Show both Text and Icons and the missing icons would be replaced by simple text.
Ubuntu 7.10 “Gutsy Gibbon” Beta released
Ubuntu announced today the release of the beta version of Ubuntu 7.10 codenamed “Gutsy Gibbon”. This cutting edge version of Ubuntu includes the freshly new Gnome 2.20, and also comes with Compiz Fusion by default. Set multiple tabs as your homepage
A simple Firefox tip to set multiple tabs as your homepage. Go to Edit >> Preferences >> Main and simply separate multiple URLs by the | symbol in order to set them all to open in tabs as your Firefox homepage. Alternately, open all the pages you want to see on launch, and in Firefox’s Options dialog, hit the “Use Current Pages” button.
Second day of Firefox celebrations
Second and last day of Firefox festivities. The major attraction in Japan was the Firefox car. it made it’s debut at the Mozilla 24 “Firefox Rock Festival” in Tokyo on Sept. 15th. and it will compete in the largest all-Japan custom car show in Nagoya later in September.
