Open source desktop email client, Thunderbird has been update to version 3.0.4 for all platforms. This update focuses on security and stability, a total of 82 bugs have been fixed – 19 were considered critical. Several fixes were also to the user interface.
Thunderbird 3.0.4 is now available for download at Mozilla Messaging, with release notes. If you are using Thunderbird 3.x.x then check for updates.

Google Chrome Dev channel has been updated to 5.0.360.4 for Windows and Mac and 5.0.360.5 for Linux. Google in this update has taken many by surprise by integrating Flash to the Chrome browser. For now you need this command-line switch to enable the Flash plug-in; --enable-internal-flash, but not long from now all Chrome versions will have flash by default. More»

Opera 10.51 (and 10.52) for Linux has been completely rewritten from scratch, with the hope of resolving long time outstanding issues says Ruari, one of Opera’s developers in this blog post. Apart the code overhaul (the .rpm and .deb packages have cleaner post-install and pre-uninstall scripts and the tarball install script is entirely replaced, added uninstall script for tarballs, multiple installations made easy and more), some changes have been made as to how Opera handles its widgets. The open source cross-platform Internet TV, Miro, has been updated to version 3.0 – with many new entry features like subtitles, that users can select from the drop down menu or load their own external subtitle files, higher max volume 2x/3x, play-externally right-click menu. Miro 3.0 is also faster than previous version, its said to be over 150% faster. More»
