The OpenOffice.org Suite (Database, Presentation, Spreadsheet, Word Processor) also includes a tool for Digital Signatures.
Before you enable the digital signatures feature in OpenOffice.org (recommended by Sun Microsystems), you must obtain a digital certificate and install it on your machine. A digital certificate is a password-protected file that includes a variety of information,including the name and email address of the certificate owner, encryption key, issuing authority, and expiration period. Transferring files or digital documents from one computer to the other also means exposing them to risks, these documents could be intercepted. It doesn’t matter what method you use to transfer these documents, via Ftp, Samba, Email, NFS etc if it’s not well protected an intruder could pick it up. What if the intruder gets directly to your computer? What can be done to prevent someone from owning our documents?

Ophcrack is a Windows password cracker based on rainbow tables. It is a very efficient implementation of rainbow tables done by the inventors of the method. It comes with a GTK+ Graphical User Interface and runs on Windows, Mac OS X (Intel CPU) as well as on Linux.
