Mozilla Firefox 3.6 Beta 3

Firefox 3.6 beta 3

Windows, Mac, Linux: Firefox 3.6 beta 3 bundles up over 80 bug fixes from the last beta but at the same time it drops some of its marvels like tab preview.

It maintains others like alerting users about out-of-date plugins, and built in support for Personas. This is certainly the fastest of the 3 betas released so far, it is released in 60 different languages and will certainly undergo many more changes before the first release candidate.

Open-Source Sumatra PDF Reader Goes 1.0

Sumatra

Windows: Sumatra, the lightweight, open source PDF reader has reached version 1.0. This free PDF reader for Windows only made its way into the PDF-world back in 2008 and (was mentioned on this blog) immediately became an alternative to the rather bulky Adobe Reader (with its boring updates).

Sumatra focuses mainly on PDF viewing, it takes less than 3 seconds to launch a 20 page PDF document. Version 1.0 is a major landmark, it comes with lots of small bug fixes to complete version 0.9.4 that saw improvements such as; PDF compatibility, SyncTex, and a polished User Interface amongst others.

Sumatra PDF power users will find the keyboard shortcuts very useful. Shift Ctrl + for example is certainly faster to do than View -> Rotate right

Download Sumatra PDF 1.0 for Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7.
