Firefox 4 Design Mock-Ups Updated

Product Visual Designer of Mozilla, Stephen Horlander has posted on his blog a series of Windows design mock-ups for Firefox 4 – there is much of Opera 10.50 and Google Chrome in these mock-ups.

You’ll also notice that the Application button that will certainly take the place of the file menu doesn’t seem to fit in anywhere, its position and size keeps changing. For more iterations of the Windows version of Firefox 4, hit the link below.

Stop Firefox from Opening a new White Tab with NewTabURL

NewTabURL

Mac, Linux, Windows: Firefox by default offers a white space when you open a new tab. Chromium for example by default opens the Speed Dials. If you’re not happy with Firefox’s white space tab thing than grab NewTabURL.

This extension offers three possibilities;
it lets you open a custom URL when opening a new tab;
It can load what ever is in your clipboard and lastly you can tell Firefox to go by its default, that is to open a white tab.

The ‘Select location bar after loading the new tab’ option highlights the address bar when a new tab is opened, so you can start typing-in a new URL. – That’s all folks!!!

NewTabURL is Firefox extension that works on all platforms; Windows, Mac and Linux.

Single key shortcuts were part and parcel of Opera 9.2 and previous versions but are disabled in Opera 9.5 and higher version. To enable them launch Opera browser and check the box marked “Enable single-key shortcuts” in Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Shortcuts. Single Key Shortcuts are extra function keys and do not replace traditional multiple keyboard shortcuts. More»
