A major change in Mozilla’s development attitude towards the Firefox browser puts v3.7 out of schedule. Mozilla now prefers to gradually build the browser all year long, inserting new functions via regular security updates rather than making feature-packed upgrades once or twice a year. In Ubuntu you can extend your clipboard functionality with an application like Parcellite Clipboard Manager, but if most of your work is concentrated in the Firefox browser why not get a Firefox specific clipboard – Clipple. By default Clipple extends your clipboard with 15 entries – but that’s just for starts, you can increase the number of entries but not without making your memory grumble, you can as well limit each text entry to a maximum number of characters. The second release candidate (RC 2) of Firefox for Maemo is out out. RC1 was the the most updated version before this release. Firefox for Maemo rc 2 now uses the latest version of the Gecko layout engine – Gecko 1.9.2 RC1 and major performance issues that affected Nokia N900 smartphone have been resolved. If you’re running Fennec ‘Maemo’ RC1 on your N900 or N810, then wait for updates to show-up, or grab it from here.

Mozilla has released the first release candidate (RC1) of Firefox for Maemo, the Debian based platform developed by Nokia for smartphones and Internet Tablets. Fennec ‘Maemo’ is currently supported by Nokia N900 and N810. Users running Firefox for Maemo beta 5 will soon be prompted to update to the more stable release candidate. More»
