Justin.tv Video Plugin for XBMC

For Windows/Mac/Linux: With the Justin.tv Video Plugin for XBMC you can now watch live streams from the Justin.tv on your XBMC Media Center.
Justin.tv is surely the largest online community to broadcast, watch and interact with live video.

Justin.tv Video Plugin for XBMC does not support video clips, for now. The author says he’s looking into it.

To manually install this plugin in your Ubuntu box, download and extract the Justin.tv directory into your ~/.xbmc/plugins/video/ directory. Run XBMC, hit Videos -> Video Plugins -> Justin.tv and start watching live video streams.

The author of this plugin also recommends the use of the SVN Repo Installer update feature for automated updates of this plugin.

Justin.tv Adds DVR Functionality

On my Ubuntu box streaming Tv boils down to two applications/web applications, SopCast and Justin.tv. The first, Sopcast needs to be installed on your system, the latter Justin.tv, goes every where there is a browser with the Flash plugin, great. But Justin.tv goes even further, it now has DVR – Digital Video Recorder.

Justin.tv will present to viewers a bar under each video that reads “Continue watching this later…” A click on it is enough to start recording the given live video. Justin.Tv will like preserve it for you, so whenever you come back, you can pick it up from where you left it. More»

SongBird 1.2 Released

The popular open source music player Songbird goes 1.2. The new version is said to include full integration with iTunes. The 2-way Sync with iTunes permits those who buy content from iTunes Music Store to export iTunes library tracks and playlists into Songbird and vice versa, that is, you can also export your Songbird tracks and playlists to iTunes, hence into your iPhone or iPod.
