Speed up your Downloads with JDownloader
For Windows/Mac/Ubuntu: JDownloader is a java-based download management tool that completely automates the downloading process in popular file sharing sites like Rapidshare and Megaupload. It offers downloading in multiple parallel streams, it can circumvent captcha, auto-reconnect and let you “pause” downloads where its not permitted.
JDownloader can even run on schedule if extended with the Schedule extension. It automatically extracts zipped files with the built-in JD Unrar add-on.
JDownloader can be used as a stand-alone or with Firefox through integration with the Flashgot extension. Recently upgraded Flashgot now has support for per-window Private Browsing in Firefox 20
Install in Ubuntu
You can install in your Debian based OS like Ubuntu 12.04, 12.10 and the upcoming Raring 13.04, Mint 14
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:jd-team/jdownloader
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install jdownloader-installer
The above code installs the JDownloader WebInstaller, thru which the JDownloader stand-alone is installed. JDownloader’s JD-Unrar add-on depends on the unrar freeware. You might need “unrar-nonfreeā to get automatic file extraction.
sudo apt-get install unrar
The JDownloader is freeware, it badly needs OpenJDK or Oracle’s Java to work.
