WordPress 3.0 “Thelonious” released
WordPress open source blogging platform has reached version 3.0. Code named “Thelonious” this major release packs a modern default theme called Twenty Ten, new APIs that allow WP theme developers to implement custom backgrounds, headers, shortlinks, menus, post types, and taxonomies.
WordPress MU (multi-user) has been molded into WordPress Thelonious (Monk) creating a “new multi-site functionality which makes it possible to run one blog or ten million from the same installation”. WordPress 3.0 also features bulk updates, which allows users to upgrade all plug-ins with a single click, lots of bug fixes, and a new “lighter interface”. It is now available for upgrade from within the dashboard.
