Jolicloud 1.0 to get Touch Screen support

Jolicloud, the Ubuntu based Linux distribution for netbooks will be adding touchscreen support out of the box, come version 1.0. Supported touchscreen technologies include handheld devices such as, HTC Shift X9500, HP Jornada (600 and 700 series), Compaq iPAQ H3600, Samsung NB30 amongst many others. See complete list.

The short demo below shows the new HTML5 interface on a touchscreen enabled Samsung NB30.

The developers of Jolicloud recently added to Jolicloud’s notification area an ‘updates icon’ that turns orange when updates are available, making it easy for users to keep their apps up-to-date. Jolicloud currently has over 600 web applications in its App Center, and more are on the way.
