Google Chrome Dev Channel Now Supports VP8 WebM
The first official version of Google Chrome with support for VP8 WebM open video format has been released. WebM was pushed into Google Chrome Dev Channel in today’s update. Chromium and special builds of Opera, and Firefox web browsers got WebM the same day that it was introduced at Google’s annual developers conference about a month ago.
Dev channel releases are for those who want to have cutting edge browsing experiences and don’t give a damn about stability. WebM support will later land in beta and stable releases of Chrome, but if you can’t wait till then, then grab the Google Chrome dev. See instructions on how to watch YouTube video in this format.
