Nero Linux 3 Redesigned

Nero AG has released the first beta version of the burning software NERO Linux 3. Nero Linux 3 has been redesigned to maximize ease of use, efficiency, and speed with next-generation disc formats. What’s the novità ? The graphic interface has been updated and its now “richer” and more integrated with the Gnome Desktop. They used GTK2 graphical libraries to develop it. Digitally Sign your Documents with OpenOffice.org


The OpenOffice.org Suite (Database, Presentation, Spreadsheet, Word Processor) also includes a tool for Digital Signatures.

Before you enable the digital signatures feature in OpenOffice.org (recommended by Sun Microsystems), you must obtain a digital certificate and install it on your machine. A digital certificate is a password-protected file that includes a variety of information,including the name and email address of the certificate owner, encryption key, issuing authority, and expiration period. Protect your documents with Digital Signature and KGpg

Transferring files or digital documents from one computer to the other also means exposing them to risks, these documents could be intercepted. You Say WordPress, I Say Open Source!!!


In a recent research on the “Influence of Open Source” made by Kabatology for the University of Bologna(Unibo) – Italy, Kanute (owner of Kabatology aka Martin) pointed out how Open source has revolutionized the software business in general by dramatically lowering the cost of entry for software providers. Development tools and infrastructure components required to deliver software as a service are now inexpensive or free. This has opened the software market to a much wider audience of developers who can now start companies and deliver their products for far less money than was required just a few years ago. In short, open source is making software cheaper in that it lowers barriers to entry and creates a more competitive market.

Is Linux Still a third Choice?

Is there a right way to bust apart the challenging fortress of metaphor that Apple has created with the “Get a Mac” campaign? With such a powerful dichotomy between the Mac and PC archetypes, is it even possible to insert Linux and have it come out on top?
